Supplemental Educational Services (SES)

, as part of the Supplemental Educational Services (SES), provides a 3 month (2 hours per week) individualized school based tutoring program for eligible Hawai'i students K-8. Regular school day lessons are supported by a combination of computer based instruction and face-to-face highly qualified tutor/teacher instruction.

We recognize that for many children, academic concerns have negatively affected their self-confidence and self-esteem. For this reason, all tutoring services are tailored to the child’s individual needs.

Tutor Hawai’i’s purpose is to align current classroom programs and curriculum with supplemental afterschool sessions.

This will be accomplished with two half hour sessions within the hour:

• one half hour session will be on the computer
• the other half hour will be working directly with the tutor

This individualized focus will prepare the student for future success inside and outside of the classroom setting.
